Around the world, better-educated women are able to
protect themselves and their families from the e ects
of natural disasters because they can provide higher
quality of care for their children in the face of crisis
and navigate the challenges posed to bounce back
quicker.
Deaths due to disaster could be reduced by 60
percent by 2050 if 70 percent of all 20-39 year old
women completed lower-secondary school*
